Dexter Ingram

Director, Office of Countering Violent Extremism, U.S. Department of State

Dexter Ingram is a counterterrorism and counter weapons of mass destruction strategist who has been burning the candle at both ends for over 25 years. As the Director of the Office of Countering Violent Extremism (CT/CVE) at the U.S. Department of State, he didn’t start the fire, but he leads the development and implementation of policies and programs to prevent and counter violent extremism around the world.

Ingram has served as an Advisor to the Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS; Senior Counterterrorism Advisor to INTERPOL in Lyon, France; Senior Political Advisor in Helmand, Afghanistan; Deputy Director of the State Department’s Preventing WMD Terrorism team; and as a senior liaison to the FBI and DHS.

His work led him to found the IN Network, a nonprofit that guides young minds towards fulfilling careers in national security. Serving on the boards of the International Spy Museum, the Sycamore Institute, Globally, NCITE, and CISA, he works to integrate educational initiatives that foster a deep understanding of national security challenges and inspire the next generation of leaders.

Dexter’s ability to dissect and analyze threats is like a fire that burns away the noise, revealing the critical information that can make all the difference. His influence extends beyond the walls of any single institution, sparking discussions and innovations that have reshaped the field.
