Assistant National Cyber Director for Budget Review and Assessment Drenan Dudley’s track record of leadership in key staff positions and career commitment to public service is such that during the 115th Congress she was named a Stennis Congressional Fellow, bipartisan leadership development experience for senior staff members of the U.S. Congress. Her extensive experience responding to emergencies and disasters has now led to her inclusion on this hot list.
Prior to her position in the Executive Office of the President in the Office of the National Cyber Director, Dudley was professional staff to the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee from 2005 to 2021 where she had appropriations and oversight responsibilities for over $25 billion in annual Department of Homeland Security programs and over $196 billion in supplemental appropriations for major disasters in the United States. Federal agencies in her portfolio include the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the U.S. Secret Service, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers, the Federal Protective Service, the Office of Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, Intelligence and Analysis, and Departmental Management.
Dudley has also worked with state and local governments, schools, public safety organizations, medical services, nonprofit organizations, small businesses, and corporations during her time as Director of Projects and Grants for Senator Fritz Hollings (D-S.C.).
