Rachelle Henderson

Chief Information Officer, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

The heat is on all echelons of the IT enterprise divisions of federal government agencies tasked with implementing the President’s Cybersecurity Executive Order – and you can say that Rachelle Henderson blossoms the hotter it gets. Her passion is delivering IT systems and services that empower mission delivery.

Henderson stepped in as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and immediately went to work to modernize vital IT systems, in turn maturing the organization to contemporary IT management disciplines and significantly enhancing the cyber defense posture of the enterprise.

While it may sound like an uncontrollable blaze, with her meteoric rise leading the Border Enforcement and Management Systems at CBP Henderson was the woman for the job. Before joining ICE, she led the branch responsible for the United States Border Patrol (USBP) and Air and Marine Operations (AMO) enforcement systems. She was also named as the lead for the DHS priority Unified Immigration Portal (UIP) program.

During her tenure, she had the opportunity to directly support the field and expand her technical portfolio as a regional director in CBP’s Field Support in Arizona and then Texas, leading the organization that supports all information technology, surveillance, and tactical communications technology for CBP’s frontline operators. This experience was the perfect precursor to the demands of ICE’s transformation. Cuz, you know, Rachelle’s on fire!!
