Eric Leckey

Associate Administrator for Mission Support, Federal Emergency Management Agency

In the 1961 film “The Day the Earth Caught Fire,” the U.S. and USSR tested nuclear weapons at the same time and altered the rotation of the earth, setting the world ablaze. If it gets that hot today, it would be Federal Emergency Management Agency Associate Administrator for Mission Support Eric Leckey to the rescue. We’d need administrative and real property services, information technology and cybersecurity, procurement, security, and human capital. And Leckey is the man delivering over $500 million of program requirements and leading a team of 1,477 Mission Support professionals and 603 disaster reservists. And he leads it all with grace and, most importantly from a taxpayer’s point of view, business excellence.

Throughout his ascension at FEMA, from Deputy Chief Administrative Officer to Deputy Associate Administrator for Mission Support, he provided executive-level leadership, management, and oversight in the delivery of agency-wide business administrative services. Installations? Check. Infrastructure? Check. Property, Environmental and Support Services? Check. Safety, health, medical, and psychological support services? Check! Privacy, disclosure, and records management? Well, CHECK to that too because Eric was FEMA’s Chief Privacy Officer as well.

And if humanity ever does push the earth off its axis, Leckey will be there to greet you as the certified Chief of the Resources Support Section in the National Response Coordination Center.
